Smart PIN Mailer for Secure Printing and Delivery of Cardholder PIN
Main Functions
Smart PM is running based on HSM and database, all the relevant
data are stored to database, the security of system is ensured by
HSM, this chapter describe the main functions in Smart PM.
1, Admin
System control information can setup by admin group user flexibly,
authorized user could manage the users, setup system configuration,
setup print format, key management and Log management.
2, User management
User Management allows admin to link a Windows local or domain user
account to Smart PM system with fingerprint, the user name can be
modified or deleted by admin group user.
3, Configuration
System control settings are all managed in configuration section,
HSM, Database connection information, and weight/Fee, report, log
setup.
4, Print Format
Before using the printer to print mailer, it is necessary to define
the print format of the mailer or document, user can define the
printing data value and position by themselves, the command must be
conform to the Thales Payshield 900 HSM PIN format configuration.
5, Key Management
PGP/GPG key used for Smart PM are RSA key, they are used for input
data protection. User can create /delete/import/export PGP/GPG key
through Smart PM interface.
The ZMK is used to encrypt keys of a lower level for transmission,
such ZPK. For local storage, a ZMK which under HSM LMK will be
encrypted by Smart PM system Key. This system key stored in eToken,
using “update protect key” function to manage the system key.
6, Log Management
Log management records the user/system actions if enabled, there
are 2 log types, SYS(system) log and HSM log. System log records
all operation in system, HSM log traces the HSM activities, user
can search information from the log file.
7, Task Management
User can delete PIN relevant file and record after print PIN mailer
successful, this menu only allowed IT operation user access under
supervisor (Checker).
8, Print/Reprint
Printing PIN mailer needs to load input data file and address file
to generate the print tasks, then selecting a task to
print/reprint. During the printing process, Smart PM will complete
below activities.
1) Auto decrypt input file by PGP/GPG Key. (All data in file of
input data encrypted under PGP/GPG )
2) Combine cardholder information with printing format , and then
generate printing command
3) Smart PM Sends printing request to Thales PayShield 9000 HSM.
4) HSM decrypts sensitive data ,and then send print information to
printer for printing PIN Mailer.
5) Generate report.
9, Report
Smart PM generates several reports during the program running,
these report can print directly.
Printing Control Report
Report a summary of PIN printing status for each job.
Post Office Report
Including customer name, destination, input data name, operator,
and status information
Audit Trail Report
Logging system events all time during program running.
